Hamas: We target the occupation's army, and our hands do not reach civilians and children

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) affirmed today, Wednesday, that the resistance and the Al-Qassam Brigades avoid targeting civilians, and only aim at the Zionist military system in the "Aqsa Storm" battle.

Hamas denied in a press statement what has been circulated regarding its targeting of children, calling on Western media to be accurate and not biased towards the Zionist narrative.

Hamas considered the transmission of Western media of news claiming that the Islamic Resistance Movement killed infants, decapitated them, and targeted civilians as a "media fallacy" aimed at covering up the occupation's crimes and massacres committed day and night in Gaza. These actions, according to Hamas, amount to war crimes and genocide by targeting civilians and cutting off their access to electricity, water, food, and medical supplies.

Hamas explained that the Islamic resistance and the Al-Qassam Brigades focused on targeting the Zionist military and security system in the "Aqsa Storm" battle, which are legitimate targets. At the same time, they sought to avoid civilian casualties, as witnessed by numerous field videos, and this was attested to by several settlers in video testimonials through the media.

Israeli Claims

There have been claims about members of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, allegedly "beheading many Israeli children" during the attack on the seventh of October, the current month. These claims have been reported by Western media.

However, the Israeli Defense Forces spokesperson's office stated yesterday, on Tuesday, that they have no information confirming what was reported by Israeli newspapers, which had also spread on social media.

On Saturday, Hamas and other Palestinian factions in Gaza launched an operation called "The Storm of Al-Aqsa."

In response, the Israeli army initiated the operation "Iron Swords" and continued intense airstrikes targeting civilians in various areas in the Gaza Strip. This has resulted in the death of approximately 1,055 people and the injury of 5,184, according to the latest figures from the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
